LIL JON INTERVIEWS ANDY HOWELL IN JUXTAPOZ
If you’re a fan of the A, then you will want to pick up the latest issue of Juxtapoz. LIL JON along with SHEPARD FAIREY and EVAN PRICCO interview the one and only ANDY HOWELL. (Portrait by JON DRAGONETTE) Just listening to these guys talk about how they were behind some of the sickest trends in the A before they were even trends. Great read…
Atlanta Man Makes the Race Card
Last night on the local news, as an aside to the politics of Rev. Wright’s effect on Barack Obama, WSB TV did a story on a local artist named Fabian Williams. Williams, you see, has put his artistic endeavors to work by creating a set of "Race Cards" that he says can be used in heavy discussions. The cards feature folks like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Bill O’Reilly and Rush Limbaugh, just to name a few. Williams said the cards can be handed to someone you’re talking with if you think they are playing "the race card," and on the back it reads "You have received the Race Card," putting the opposing person on notice.

Tell us about your business and what you offer clients?
My business is focused on providing Atlanta parents with modern, custom portraits of their precious little ones.
When did you first become interested in photography?
During summer vacation when I was 12 years old, my family traveled from our small hometown in Georgia to northern California. Because these types of trips were very rare for my family, I remember wanting to soak up every detail, and I snapped many rolls of film to share with my friends back home.
How do you create an emotional connection with your clients?
I like to get to know my clients before our session takes place. At the session, I try to put everyone at ease so that they are comfortable and natural in front of my camera. With children, I usually hang out and play for a while before we get started so that he/she has time to “warm up” to me. The most helpful thing for me is patience. I never rush. I always take the time to ensure that I connect with my little clients and accomplish my vision for that particular session.
Do you have a favorite shoot or client experience?
In late 2007, I documented an emotional military homecoming with a very sweet family at Hartsfield-Jackson airport. You can read more about this shoot on my blog »
Any raves or reviews you would like to share?
I love getting feedback from my clients, and I’ve posted a few of my favorite reviews on my site »
